T-shirts with Bulgarian folklore

Every design here starts from a Bulgarian custom, belief or legend — Kukeri, Samodivi, Lamya, Orisnitsi — and is made to be worn, not to sit in a souvenir shop. Organic cotton, a unisex oversized fit, printed in Bulgaria, paid for on delivery.

The legends behind the prints

Four figures from Bulgarian folklore. Each was a way of explaining something people couldn't control — evil, the night, drought, fate.

Kukeri„Злото бяга“

Men in masks, horns and bells who go round the villages in winter and drive evil away with noise. The custom is still alive — from Strandzha to the Pernik region.

Samodivi„Не влизай в хорото“

Forest maidens who dance the horo at night, until the first roosters. Their circle dance is beautiful and dangerous: whoever joins it doesn't come back.

Lamya„Водата има цена“

A many-headed winged monster that locks up the water and drives the hail. Her enemy is the zmey — the guardian of the fields.

Legends, not embroidery

Say “a tee with folk motifs” and most Bulgarians picture shevitsa — red-and-black embroidery at the collar or the sleeve. It's beautiful, but it's ornament. Here the motif is the story: the custom or belief each design starts from.

So the prints are drawings, not patterns — a mask, a circle dance, a monster, three sisters over a cradle. The symbols come from the folklore: the kukeri's horns and bells, the samodivi's horo, the orisnitsi's thread. No flags, no lions.

The tee

Every design is on the same black tee: 100% organic cotton, 240 g/m². That's a heavyweight — dense cloth that doesn't show through and keeps its shape after washing.

The cut is unisex oversized, with dropped shoulders — worn by men and women alike. We print in Bulgaria after you order, and you pay the courier when the parcel is in your hands.

Everything about the tee — density, cut, care
