The legend
Samodivi are forest maidens with white shirts and long hair. At night they dance the horo, a Bulgarian circle dance, in meadows and by springs, until the first roosters crow. Whoever steps into their horo does not come back. And where they have danced, no grass grows.
They live high in the mountains — Pirin, Rila, Strandzha — by lakes and old trees. Their power is in their clothes: a samodiva without her shirt or her wings cannot leave. In the songs a young man steals her clothes and takes her for his wife, but she only waits to get them back — and then she flies away.
They are most dangerous in Rusalia week, after Pentecost, and on the night before Enyovden, midsummer. Then the old people would not walk alone in the forest or drink from a spring they didn't know. The place where they danced is called a samodiva's ground — and nobody steps into it.
The full legend →The design
A horo of seven samodivi, seen from above, in a circle with the words “Те танцуват до първи петли” — they dance until the first roosters. Orange bare footprints lead out of the circle and between the two halves of “Който влезе, не се връща” — whoever steps in doesn't come back.

Questions about this tee
What does „Не влизай в хорото“ mean?
“Don't join the horo” — the warning from the belief: whoever takes hands in the samodivi's circle dance doesn't come back. The horo is how they take a person.
Who are the samodivi?
Forest maidens from Bulgarian folklore — white shirts, long hair, and a power hidden in their clothes. They live in the mountains and come out at night, until the first roosters.
Is it a men's or a women's tee?
Both. The cut is unisex and oversized, with dropped shoulders, in sizes XS–2XL. Between two sizes, take the larger one; for a closer fit, stay with your usual size.
How thick is it?
100% organic cotton, 240 g/m² — a heavyweight tee. It isn't see-through and it keeps its shape after washing.
Does it work as a gift?
You give the story behind the print along with the tee. If the size is wrong, we swap it — at our cost on a first order.
